Visit Fattoria Montecchio For an Amazing Experience From Start to Finish!
Fattoria Montecchio, a winery and farmhouse, was one of many tours I researched before booking when looking for a fun day trip while I was staying in Florence. With so many options, it was hard to know what to pick, but I am so happy I chose Fattoria Montecchio and would recommend it to everyone I know! It was an amazing experience from start to finish, and I would recommend it as a “must-do” to anyone visiting the Siena or Florence areas.
I had the opportunity to travel around a few Italian cities outside of Rome with my parents, who were visiting me in Italy for the first time. It was important for me to find an experience that was not only fun and educational but also reasonably priced and enjoyable for our various ages.
What’s included?
When booking here, you will get a personally led tour of the working winery, farmhouse, and an in-depth explanation of the wine-making process. After walking around the beautiful grounds and seeing the farm-to-table values, our tour was welcomed into an event space with fresh meat and cheese plates, olive oil, balsamic, bread, and prepared water. All were products of Fattoria Montecchio, and all were equally amazing as the four glasses of wine that followed.
Overall Experience
I learned so much from this trip and loved getting to create those memories with my parents while abroad! I would recommend this to other students traveling around Italy, especially if their parents are coming to visit them while they are studying abroad. Not only did we get an immersive experience with the food and wine tasting, we learned so much about the history of the Chianti region on our tour as well. We wished we could’ve spent more time there and possibly even stayed on the grounds as that was also an option, but look forward to booking again one day!
